The Real Cayo
Where does the name CrazyCayo come from? Well here she is, the original lady herself!
Cayo is the name of my amazing equine! She is a Mustang cross, stands 14.2hh (56.8" or 1.4m) at the shoulder, and is also 30 years old!
I was lucky enough to find and buy Cayo when I was ten years old and we have been riding and driving ever since! She is now mostly retired and lives on my parents farm.
This is the same horse, I swear!
Cayo has really unique coloring. She is considered a blue roan which means her coat is made up of black and white hairs which sometimes makes her appear blue or silver in color.
This also means that she changes the color of her coat every few months. She is nearly black in winter, goes through a spotted phase in spring and then in silver in summer.
The winters here get pretty cold but Cayo always growns a nice thick coat. She gets super fluffy and when it frosts she ends up looking like this.
I grew up riding horses but had a bad accident which has given me some mobility issues and problems with my hips. This meant riding wasnt an option anymore.
But Cayo and I found something else we could do! We took up driving. Here she is mid course of a combined driving event. We all got a little sweaty that day, it was about +34 celcius out! She did amazing though and with the help of Remby as navigator we had a fantastic day!
Another shot from the competition, this time a nice cool off through the water obstacle!
Cayo is a huge fan of water and loves to swim. We have ridden in rivers and she never hesitates to get into the water for a splash!
So that's the real Cayo! A loveable, fluffy goofball of a horse!
